OVERVIEW
The Nevada Solar One – Solargenix
Energy project is the third largest solar
energy center in the world, and the
largest capacity facility built in 15 years.
The massive project covers 400 acres
with 180,000 reflective mirrors and will be
capable of providing 64 MW of power.
The desert location of the project means
the hot-dip galvanized steel will be
exposed to intense UV rays. This project
is a first in the US of this size and
magnitude, but larger projects are
planned in Nevada and California. The
durability and longevity provided by
galvanized steel will ensure hot-dip
galvanized steel will be a player in the
expanding alternative energy market well
into the future. The use of
Brite Zinc for on-site
touch-up
further
allowed
galvanizing protection without traditionally
long lead-times.
